Follow my Journey
Looking back further, I blame Sarah Beeney, Kirstie and Phil, and the wonderful George Clarke for my initial curiosity, interest and fascination with property. This interest has been there for many years but the opportunity to make this a reality evolved over time.
My husband James and I really enjoyed doing minor home refurbishments together and putting our own mark on a space. My wonderful late Grandad was a respected painter and decorator, whom I spent many hours watching and learning from him when I was young.
We first dabbled in renovation after purchasing a bungalow for my grandparents and doing a light refurb, which we really enjoyed. It was a small project but included removing a dated fireplace, stone surround, changing glass internal doors, a new bathroom, front door, and the usual carpets and decoration. A couple of years later we became accidental landlords for the same bungalow, which we kept for a few years before selling.
Our own home needed TLC when we bought it, but we had the vision of what it could become over time. We revived and encapsulated the stained-glass window on our landing, kept the beautiful curves in the plaster work and the very deep and original cornicing in the lounge.
Following the sale of the bungalow, the next project for us was to do a large extension of our own home, making an open plan kitchen, diner, and living space. I thoroughly enjoyed the design process with the Architect, seeing the different building stages, and the best bit for me, the interior decoration and styling after.
It is always stressful living in the midst of a building renovation, with the dust and dirt a constant daily reminder, but also joyous seeing it evolve in front of your eyes.
"There is nothing like practical experience to learn, and there are always lessons to take away for next time."
It was great to involve all our family members in the project too!

Things I Love

Passion for Period Design
Properties with such character and many stories to tell are of particular interest to me. I enjoy restoring the beautiful features, allowing them to be tresured for many more years to come.
Building Networks

Networking
Networking has been an early and crucial component of my property venture, and I include networking in the wider business circles as well.
There is so much benefit from taking the time to network, especially as a new business, and it cannot be underestimated, if you want to succeed.
Take a look at just some of my networking.
